Jajarkot tests test positive for Swine influenza

'Illness going under control' 

KATHMANDU, APR 14 - The obscure illness that has asserted 16 lives in country towns of Jajarkot amid the previous two weeks could be swine influenza, wellbeing authorities said after three examples tried positive for H1N1 infection. 

The National Public Health Laboratory situated in Teku, Kathmandu, said the swine influenza infection were found in three examples out of 10 gathered by a group of paramedics from patients of the sickness struck area. 

"Three out of 10 examples tried positive for H1N1," said Dr Baburam Marasini, chief of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division at the Department of Health Services. "Be that as it may further tests need to be directed before closing if all the patients were experiencing swine influenza. 

The illness has asserted 10 lives in Paik VDC, five in Tale Gaun and one in Archhani since its flare-up two weeks back. The illness broke out after one Sushmita Jaisi, who returned in the wake of finishing her SLC exams, passed on of high fever and influenza. 

The side effects of infection are migraine, joint agony, sickness, retching, hack, and fever. 

Jagarkot Chief District Officer Jagat BahadurBasnet has credited the spread of the infection to absence of sterile measures and clean drinking water. 

He has asked the overall population to take preventive measures saying the infection generally spread from coming into contact with sniffling and hacking patients. 

The administration is get ready to dispatch extra solutions while 'Tommy Flu' named drug has as of now been sent to the region to treat patients of the viral flu. 

'Infection under control' 

The restorative staff deputed to treat the infection in the region have guaranteed that its spread has been contained in Paik, Acharni, Talegaun, Sakla, Pajaru and Nayakwada VDCs that were the most influenced by the flare-up. 

In the interim, local people made opposing cases saying hundreds were still influenced by the malady and loss of lives were because of fever, regurgitating and electric sensation on hands and feet. 

A group of Nepal Army doctors from area base camp Khalanga left for Talegaun after reports of passings of four more persons on Tuesday, said CDO Basnet. 

Paik VDC, the most influenced by the infection, has been confronting deficiency of medications. The essential medications are being supplied from Kathmandu and Nepalgunj. 

The quantity of patients going to the Health Post at Talegaun, situated at the western piece of the area, has taken off, Health Post In-control Prem Lama said. The quantity of dead from Swine Influenza has come to 16 with hundreds still influenced in the region.
